CONTINUING OUR RESPONSE TO COVID-19

The world has changed a lot over the last several months, but we remain committed to making OMERS a sustainable, affordable and meaningful defined benefit plan. Below, you’ll find information and resources to support you through the uncertainty.

Your pension benefit

OMERS remains a defined benefit plan focused on paying predictable monthly income to its members in retirement. This has not changed, even with the current global pandemic situation. We hear your concerns related to current markets. We want to emphasize a key point – your OMERS pension is built for the long run.

You can be certain that OMERS team of expert investors worldwide has been taking specific measures over the last several years to help safeguard our portfolio as much as possible for events just like this one.

To learn more about the factors that determine your pension benefit amount, see “How Your OMERS Pension Grows” in this issue.

OMERS Community

Unlike our usual pension-related content, this community was developed to keep us connected while we remain apart. COVID-19 has forced us all to live and work differently. For that reason, we have created OMERS Community, an online platform to bring our community together and provide access to health and wellness resources, stories from the community and the opportunity to schedule virtual coffee chats.

Visit the OMERS Community page take advantage of everything the site has to offer. New content and resources will be added in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
