COMMUNITY PROFILE :

HAMILTON

Driving into Hamilton you may see a sign that reads, “Welcome to Hamilton: A City of Many Communities.” This slogan references the fact that the city of Hamilton also includes Stoney Creek, Dundas, Ancaster, Glanbrook and Flamborough. In addition to these communities, Hamilton is home to the first ever Tim Horton’s, the Tiger Cats, McMaster University, more than 100 waterfalls, and over 15,000 OMERS members.

Hamilton’s Mayor, Fred Eisenberger, said:

“We are proud to have a distinct history and identity as a hard‑working community. Our OMERS members, who work here or call Hamilton home, help to build the success and development of our great city.”

A brewery, kitchen and bottle shop where the beers and sausages are made in-house.

Multiple locations offering soups, burgers and salads that cater to vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets.

Arguably the most Instagram-able brunch spot in the city.

A must-visit for deep-dish pizza lovers.

WHAT TO SEE AND DO:
  • Gage Park: This 30-hectare park is a hub for festivals and events, and features rose gardens, a spray pad and a tropical greenhouse.

  • Art Crawl: On the second Friday of every month, James Street North transforms into a street festival showcasing art, music, food and more!

  • Devil’s Punchbowl Conservation Area: The Punchbowl includes two waterfalls, a hiking trail and an amazing view of Stoney Creek and the Hamilton Harbor.
